Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan led the San Antonio Spurs to a 83-82 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers and a sweep of the NBA Finals on Thursday night.

For awhile there in the second half of Game 3 of the NBA Finals, did anyone else think, 'wow, it looks like John Starks is taking every shot for the Cavs.' Three-for-Nineteen.

Tony Parker was unstoppable. Tim Duncan was dominant. And LeBron James had a rude introduction to the NBA Finals, as the Spurs dispatched the Cavaliers rather handily in Game One, 85-76. Parker scored a game-high 27 points, and Duncan scored 24 points, collected 13 rebounds, and swatted five shots.

In this morning's New York Times, writer Vincent M. Mallozzi touts the NBA's Lenovo Stat, which is just a commercially-sponsored version of 'plus-minus.' For the first time ever, the NBA made official plus-minus stats available to the public, which was kinda cool if you had never heard of, say, 82games.com or BasketballValue or PopcornMachine.

Most of us snicker and guffaw when someone comes out with a David Stern conspiracy theory -- you know, like Stern would rather have the Spurs in the Finals instead of the Suns, or the commissioner wanted to get a lame duck franchise the #2 pick overall instead of giving it to a once-proud now-irrelevant team. They're humorous usually, but far from

The Debriefing is a column that runs every weekday at 9:00 a.m. here on FanHouse. It goes deep into one issue and then bounces around to a plethora of smaller ones ... and does it all in a way that will make you feel like the prettiest girl at the cotillion.

We here at the Fanhouse tend to lob emails back and forth on a daily basis, talking NBA and attempting to spot trends and such. One that we keep coming back to is the lack of success for the 'Small Ball' teams in the postseason.

The NBA Playoffs, in the Western Conference at least, have been pretty good so far. Golden State had a nice little run, Utah has been a great story, and we all know about the Phoenix/San Antonio series and all of the drama that went with it.

Another postseason has ended prematurely for Steve Nash. At 33 years old, he's enjoyed three consecutive brilliant seasons where he's led Phoenix to incredible regular seasons, but each year, the Suns have come up just short of the NBA finals.

Perhaps the most interesting team to monitor in the NBA this offseason will be the Phoenix Suns. The Dallas Mavericks are a candidate, too, but their playoff ouster seems more rooted in the fact that Golden State simply wasn't a great matchup. Mark Cuban seems unlikely to nuke that squad.

When Stephon Marbury entered the League, he quickly became one of my favorite basketball players in the world. He was lightning quick, jumped out of the gym, played with an incredible amount of swagger and style, and I seriously thought him and Garnett were the 21st Century's answer to Malone and Stockton.

Remember that mini-feud that took place back in February between D. Wade and Dirk Nowitzki? Wade was upset that, in his mind, the Mavericks never gave his team credit for winning the 2006 title, and Wade fired back by putting it all on Dirk:

Mark Cuban may have trashed one former employee of his. But when it comes to the subject of Steve Nash, he certainly has his regrets. Especially after this historic first-round upset, when someone to run the offense might have come in handy

To date, the 2007 NBA Playoffs have been a showcase for three of the league's best point guards. Baron Davis, Steve Nash and Jason Kidd dominated the first round and helped their respective teams easily advance to the next round. Here's a look at how each is getting it done:

The politically correct Kobe Bryant has officially gone out of the window. For the past three seasons, Bryant has had nothing but positive things to say about the Lakers youth movement.

Golden State became the first No. 8 seed to capture a best-of-seven playoff series with a 111-86 victory over the NBA-best Dallas Mavericks in Game 6 on Thursday night.

If you're like me, your reaction to the Mario Williams racing video wasn't "what a thug," but "how does that big a man fit in an Italian sports car?" Actually, in an earlier post on Mario's Lambo, our very own Stephanie Stradley noted in passing that Shaq also owns one. Which of course, only made me more confused about how huge

For the second time this series, Stephen Jackson got an early start on his postgame shower. And again, the culprit was ... clapping.

Golden State G Stephen Jackson was hit with a $50,000 fine by the league for screaming at refs after being tossed.

Prior to this season, Leandro Barbosa signed an extension with the Phoenix Suns for $33 million over five years (or $6.6 million per season). Now to most of us that seems like a lot of money. But to a young budding NBA star with a unique skill set, it's definitely selling short. In my opinion Barbosa has converted himself to a player on the level o

Both teams find themselves down 2-0 in their respective series', and neither one of them has been within 8 points of getting a win. For the Jazz and the Magic, things don't look good.

Andrei Kirilenko is about two turnovers away from pulling a Richie Tenenbaum on the court.

Before the Playoffs began, the Denver Nuggets were known for two things: their high-powered offense led by Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony and an aversion to defense. After game 1 of the first round (in which they didn't allow a single Spurs player to score 20 points), they're looking for a little image rehab.

The unlikeliest of sources -- Canada's National Post, Toronto's third biggest newspaper -- has learned Raptors boss Sam Mitchell will be named the league's Coach of the Year.

Big game in Houston tonight. It's a little too early to call it a "must-win" game for the Jazz, especially considering the fact that they're about to head towards the friendly confines of the Delta Center, but tonight's game is huge.

Looking at Matt Barnes' NBA travel log, you'd assume he's not a very good player. He didn't get one minute of playing time the year Philadelphia picked up him along with Chris Webber. (Philly was not exactly good that year). He got cut from a 2005-06 Knicks team that finished with the second-worst record in the league. And upon his return to (still

Darko Milicic, at the tender age of 21, is already considered one of the greatest draft busts in League history. The funny thing is that he's actually a pretty good player when given the chance to show what he's got. He's long; he can defend; he can hold his own in the post; and he's got a bit of a mean streak to him.

Kirk Hinrich does a pretty good job defensively against Dwyane Wade ... at least, as good a job as anyone could expect. So when Hinrich went to the bench with foul trouble on Saturday, you might've thought the Bulls were in a little bit of trouble. 'Twas not the case, though.

When Andre Miller came to Philadelphia last December as a part of the Allen Iverson deal, it was assumed Miller would be passed on to a contender ASAP. Miller, after all, was an above-average point guard in a league where most great point guards are untouchable and many starting point guards are untenable.
